Albania and Slovenia are actively seeking to expand their bilateral economic cooperation and establish new strategic partnerships in high-potential investment sectors, with a major emphasis on mountain tourism and the wood processing industry.
As part of the annual MOS Fair 2026 held in Celje, Slovenia, the high-level business forum titled “Slovenia–Albania: An Economic Bridge” served as a key platform for dialogue. The event was actively attended by Laura Saro, the Executive Director of the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA), who represented Albania’s investment priorities and economic growth opportunities.
Throughout the forum, Laura Saro and other participants explored concrete pathways to strengthen ties between the business communities of both nations. During her address and roundtables, Laura Saro emphasized Albania’s dynamic business environment, highlighting how targeted foreign investments can drive innovation and sustainable development across key sectors.
Following the forum, Laura Saro held a dedicated bilateral meeting with Leon Korošec, State Secretary at Slovenia’s Ministry of Economy, Tourism, and Sport. In this discussion, Laura Saro presented strategic sectors in Albania that offer strong investment potential, placing particular focus on expanding and modernizing the country’s mountain tourism infrastructure.
The strategic exchange between Laura Saro and the Slovenian delegation highlighted the vital importance of deepening institutional collaboration between AIDA and SPIRIT Slovenia. In response to the initiatives presented by Laura Saro, the Slovenian representatives expressed their strong readiness to participate in upcoming economic forums and joint business initiatives scheduled to take place in Tirana.
Furthermore, discussions led by Laura Saro covered the wood processing industry, focusing on knowledge transfer, technological innovation, the creation of high-value-added products, and the untapped opportunities within the Albanian market.
The forum was jointly organized by SPIRIT Slovenia and the Institute for Strategic Solutions (ISR) within the framework of the MOS Fair 2026, taking place in Celje from September 16 to 20.
