The group’s net profit was 66% above plan, it said in a filing to the Ljubljana Stock Exchange posted after the end of the trading session on Thursday.

Net sales amounted to 380 million euro, 13% above plan and 15% higher than the net sales achieved in 2023.The growth was mainly due to higher container and car transshipments and higher revenue from storage fees.

In 2025, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to 96.3 million euro, exceeding the planned amount by 74% and 44% higher than a year earlier.

Operating costs in 2025 amounted to 290 million euro, 2% higher than planned. Operating costs increased by 8%, or 21.6 million euro, compared to 2024 driven by an 18% increase in labour costs, due to higher number of employees resulting from the hiring of agency workers and additional hires due to the increased volume of business, as well as performance-related payments.

In 2025, the port handled 23 million tonnes of cargo by ship, which is in line with the planned volumes and the volumes handled in 2024.

Luka Koper handled 1,272,161 container units (TEU) last year, a new historical record, exceeding its plan by 9% and the 2024 result by 12%. Growth was achieved primarily due to new business related to supplying production facilities in hinterland markets and the restructuring of shipping services from the Far East and the Mediterranean.

Car transshipment amounted to 914, 817 vehicles, 3% more than planned and 3% more than in 2024, mainly due to increased imports of vehicles from Chinese manufacturers and growing exports to Mediterranean countries.

Shares of Luka Koper [LJE:LKPG] closed 1.57% lower at 94 euro on Thursday. Trading on Friday morning has not started.
